Written for Michael who was killed tragically in a car accident Sept. 22, 1978.

We would row out to the middle of the lake and talk under the stars for hours, take the Northern Lights in silence - too awe-inspiring to speak.

Our families joked we would marry one day. We grew up together and were friends until the night he was killed. I was supposed to be with him and his friend that night but stayed home to do homework instead.
